The Emotional Hydrogen Peroxide You’ve Been Avoiding.

January 15, 20261 min read

When I was about 12, I flew down a hill on my bike, cut the corner too sharply, and landed in the gutter—rocks, dirt, and grime grinding deep into my arm from wrist to elbow.

My mom cleaned it with warm water, then reached for the hydrogen peroxide. I cried, “No, no, no, it’s going to hurt!” She explained that yes—it would sting—but those white bubbles meant it was pulling out the dirt and germs so the wound wouldn’t fester.

Over the next three weeks, the pain lessened, the bubbles faded, and my arm healed without a scar.

Emotional wounds work the same way. They can’t be healed from the outside in; they require what I call emotional peroxide:

  • Returning to the wound

  • Separating truth from the lies that have been festering

  • Releasing the lie so truth can finally breathe

It stings. It’s messy. And it’s worth every tear—because on the other side is a life free from the infection of old pain.

What “wound” have you been avoiding because it stings to touch?

If you’re ready to stop avoiding the healing that leads to freedom, this is where it begins.
